On 26 – 28 February 2014, UNHCR Belarus held the seminar «Usage of country of origin information» under the project “Asylum Systems Quality Initiative in Eastern Europe and South Caucasus”. The representatives of the Department on Citizenship and Migration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus and its regional sub-detachments, the Belarusian State University and non-governmental organizations took part in the event. The main purpose of the seminar was to improve the quality of COI usage in the process of decision-making on individual asylum claims. Within the framework of the seminar the participants took part in the Webinar on Russian Refworld, a database of COI documents created to overcome the existing deficit in accurate, impartial and up-to-date information about the situation in countries of origin in the Russian language.
