World Refugee Day 20 June

According to the latest data in the world, 79.5 million people are internally displaced, which makes up 1% of the world's population.

On this day, we asked to answer the question #WhatIsHomeForYou.

And got a couple of answers that we share with you.

***
For me, a home is a place where nothing threatens the safety of my family and our unity with them.

***
The house is a family, relatives and these are precisely those people who love you and are always waiting.

***
The house is, first of all, relatives and close people, next to whom you feel happy, with whom it is always warm and cozy.

***
A house is a place where you can do what you love, not being afraid that you will be disturbed or judged for it.

Every day the number of refugees is growing inexorably. A huge number of people are not able to get elementary education, medical care, a workplace. Millions of children grow up without knowing home warmth and comfort, which does not allow them to realize themselves as a full-fledged personality with their interests and preferences.

"Everyone can ,make a difference - every action counts"

Especially in the context of the spread of coronavirus infection, when everyone calls for #stayhome, it is important to remember that these people were forced to leave their home, fleeing persecution and war.

We support UNHCR and urge all people, in every corner of the planet, not to remain indifferent - on this World Refugee Day and every next day to be with refugees.

You can also see the appeal of the UNHCR Representative in Belarus, Jean-Yves Bouchardy and the UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador Iskui Abalyan.
